In 2022, Dr. Jenkins and Dr. Spurlock graduated from the prestigious, world-renowned Kois Center in Seattle, Wa.
It was at the Kois Center where their passion for oral integrative medicine was ignited. Under the tutelage of Dr. John Kois and Dr. Doug Thomson, Drs. Jenkins and Spurlock were presented with an evidenced-based approach to providing periodontal medicine which produces predictable outcomes and resolution of disease. They implemented a successful periodontal program and have found fulfillment in partnering with patients to effectively treat periodontal disease and realized genuine success in improving the health of their patients.

After graduation from the Kois center,
we approached Immy labs with the concept of developing a specific high-risk pathogen test. We have utilized salivary diagnostics as part as our periodontal protocol. The ability to prescribe appropriate and specific antibiotics in conjunction with mechanical therapeutics, such as scaling and root planing, achieves the highest predictable treatment outcomes. By implementing this diagnostic test, our patients are healthier now more than ever before.
We believe that sensitivity, accuracy, ease of use, affordability and efficiency of the salivary test are critical to both patient compliance and success rates.
We also know that in addition to testing for pathogens,
testing for salivary biomarkers such as 1-5 AG, enables dentists to work within the confines they are most comfortable—the mouth and saliva, to identify a specific disease process, diabetes, which is growing more prevalent and has a synergistic effect with periodontitis which fulfills all of our criteria. We are proud to be able to make a positive impact on patient health, provider success and change the perception of the dental profession. Dentistry is oral comprehensive medicine. Dentistry is preventive medicine.
In their free time, both doctors have obligations to their profession: serving as President and Vice President of the Central District, co-leading triage for the Oklahoma Mission of Mercy, and serving on boards for the Oklahoma Dental Association and Board of Dentistry, as well as the Board of Trustees.
